Learn from a knitting enthusiast, Australian Merino wool farmer and mindfulness coach, Vanessa Bell.
Vanessa Bell, Owner & Founder of Sarah Jane Bond has a diverse background in high fashion, finance and media. Vanessa gave up her media career after moving from Sydney to live with her grazier husband and son in 2013, she now calls one of the world's finest Merino growing districts home (Goulburn in New South Wales).
As a knitter and a farmer, Vanessa is passionate about Merino wool producing hand knitted woollen baby blankets; she is keen to teach others how to achieve mindfulness through the practical application of knitting.
Vanessa takes you on a journey as she explores the parallels between knitting and meditation focusing on knitting as a tool for open eye meditation. This course discusses the benefits of engaging in knitting in a mindful way, presents simple exercises focusing on intention and provides clear, easy-to-follow project instructions with the goal of experiencing happiness and a genuine sense of achievement.
The practice of knitting as a form of mindfulness is a form of positive psychology. It has been linked to increased positive feelings, a greater sense of coherence, improved quality of life, greater empathy, greater satisfaction in relationships and increased hope.
Vanessa has personally experienced the benefits of knitting for mindfulness after suffering severe panic attacks post a traumatic life event. Vanessa was able to completely heal herself through her knitting, astounded by the incredibly positive life changing results.
